NMB Bank as part of its drive to create a shift towards Smart Banking has launched account/Fixed Deposit (FD) opening and renewal service through Facebook Messenger and Viber messaging platform.  Amidst the ongoing Covid-19 scenario, the service is one of the many initiatives that the Bank has lined up to create an environment for customers to opt for easy and smart banking whilst simultaneously ensuring safety and security.

This is one of the most interactive products launched by the Bank, where customers can digitally open their Savings and FD accounts using FaceBook Messenger and Viber*.

Renewal of existing FD, after expiry of such existing FD, can also be initiated via Facebook Messenger and Viber.

NMB Social Onboarding is a digital platform through which customers would be able to digitally open their Savings and FD accounts using FaceBook Messenger and Viber
OTP is sent only in mobile number provided by the customer; and because of security reasons and possibility of fraud, duplications and other risk factors, OTP is not sent in email. No, only one Savings account can be opened using a mobile number (as duplication check is done by CBS)
No, customers would receive a verification call from the Bank within next 24 hours (on business days) after completion of account opening process, and only post verification of KYC information and documents, the account is activated.
Yes, initially account is debit/credit restricted, and account is activated post verification from the Bank
No, scheme transfer is done free of charge
No, its only for individual Retail Customer
After expiry of existing FD, fresh FD can be opened, which would be as good as opening fresh FD
