MERGER WITH PRUDENTIAL FINANCE (08 DECEMBER 2014)

NMB Bank signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Prudential Finance after having concluded similar deals with Clean Energy Development Bank, Pathibhara Bikas Bank and Bhrikutee Development Bank earlier. The Bank’s merger committee coordinator Kamalesh Kumar Agrawal and Prudential Director Raman Sharma signed the MoU. The name NMB Bank will be retained after the merger. Its total capital and reserve will swell to NPR 6 billion as a result. Similarly, total deposits and loans will increase to NPR 43.48 billion and NPR 34.64 billion respectively. The bank, which has been providing banking services through its 29 branches and 4 extension counters, will now have 69 branches and 7 extension counters. The number of ATMs will rise to 38 from the current 33. The bank said that the merger would enable it to provide banking services in an expanded area. The merger will turn NMB into one of the largest banks in Nepal in terms of paid-up capital.



3RD NMB BANK INTER-SCHOOL HERITAGE PAINTING COMPETITION (07 DECEMBER 2014)

NMB Social Initiative organized the 3rdNMB Bank Inter-school Heritage Painting Competition, a region wise event on 6th December 2014,at the premises of Arohan Gurukul, Hatkhola, Biratnagar. The event was a part of the initiative on corporate social responsibility on heritage preservation undertaken by the Bank.More than 30 schools from the Eastern region, which includes Biratnagar, Birtamod and Dharan participated in the competition. NMB Social Initiative believes that the schools and their combined efforts will help them take a step forward towards spreading awareness about preserving the rich heritage sites of Nepal. The competition will be carried forward in other regions as well in the coming months. The final result will be announced during the Bank’s Heritage Walk, 2015.




MERGER WITH CLEAN ENERGY (03 DECEMBER 2014)

NMB Bank has signed a merger agreement with Clean Energy Development Bank barely two months after concluding similar pacts with Pathibhara Development Bank and Bhrikuti Development Bank. The deal with Clean Energy was sealed on Tuesday. The mergers will turn NMB into one of the largest banks in Nepal in terms of paid-up capital. Its paid-up capital will swell to Rs 3.93 billion after amalgamating with Clean Energy and the two other development banks. Similarly, the overall capital base including reserves will cross Rs 4.8 billion, said Upendra Poudyal, Chief Executive Officer of NMB Bank.
 




NMB BANK IN HERITAGE PRESERVATION (19 NOVEMBER 2014)

NMB Bank in association with Machhindra Football Club has completed the maintenance of Luchhu Bhuju Ajima Mandir at Keltole, as part of the Bank’s pledge made during the 3rdNMB Bank Heritage Walk 2014. The maintenance project is part of the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility wherein the Bank has been working to create awareness on the preservation of heritage through various programs and support to organizations involved in the same. The Bank had previously renovated the Gorakhnath Mandir in Thapathali.“The Bank will continue its endeavor to spread awareness on the importance of heritage preservation through undertaking renovation/maintenance projects of neglected heritage sites and monuments in the future” said a statement issued by the Bank.

NMB BANK DASHAIN TIHAR JHILIMILI (01 NOVEMBER 2014)

NMB Bank has been working towards preservation of heritage for the last few years; in this context the Bank has been organizing Dashain Tihar Jhilimili celebration across all its branches for last three years. The branches have been decorated on the theme of Dashain and Tihar with staff attired in traditional dress of various ethnic backgrounds in some branches. The initiative aims to make people acknowledge and value our rich cultural heritage and has been giving continuity to the initiative for the past three years, said a statement issued by the Bank.

NMB BANK LAUNCHES NMB BANK ATULYA BACHAT(20 OCTOBER 2014)

NMB Bank has launched “NMB Bank Atulya Bachat” a new savings product with the most competitive rate in the current market.The product features offer flexible minimum balance ranges from NPR 2500-10,000.00 in different regions across the country whilst at the same time maintaining the interest rate offered at 5.5% per annum and is being promoted on the theme ‘get MORE’ through various promotional mediums. Interest in the account shall be posted quarterly and bundling offers of free internet banking and discount of Debit Card issuance are other facilities offered.

NMB BANK STARTS MERGER PROCESS WITH TWO DEVELOPMENT BANKS(30 SEPTEMBER 2014)

NMB Bank signed a 'Memorandum Of Understanding' to merge with Bhrikuti Development Bank and Pathibhara Bikas Bank on 29th Sep'14. With the merger capital base of the Bank will be strengthened paving the way for more lucrative investments and better network for our customers. After the merger, with 12 branches of Pathibhara Bikas Bank and 16 branches, 3 extension counters of Bhrikuti Dev Bank, the Bank will have a total of 57 branches and 5 extension counters. The Bank will have 34 ATMs across the country. Thus the Bank will be strongly represented throughout the country. The Banks' total capital & reserve will increase to NPR 3.61B with total deposits and loans at NPR 33.66B and NPR25.57B respectively. The name of the Bank, 'NMB Bank Ltd' after the merger will remain unchanged

NMB BANK OPENS EXTENSION COUNTER IN DOTI & TIMMURE(29 SEPTEMBER 2014)

NMB Bank Ltd has opened two new extension counters in Doti, Silgadi and Timmure, Dhunche to extend its service to customers in these rural areas. In its 18 years of operation, the Bank has continuously endeavored to provide the best of banking services through product innovation and ‘personalized’ service to attain “customer’s delight”. The Bank is committed to providing banking services through its branches, 30 ATMs and other alternative delivery channels in different parts of the country, said a statement issued by the Bank.

NMB BANK ORGANIZES BHADRAKALI MANDIR PREMISES CLEAN UP PROGRAM ON WORLD CLEAN UP DAY (20 SEPTEMBER 2014)

NMB Social Initiative, a non-profit organization established by the staff of NMB Bank Ltd in association with Kathmandu Metropolitan City Office, Nepal Army and Bhadrakali Guthi organized a Clean Up program of the Bhadrakali Mandir premises to mark World Clean Up Day. The Clean Up program aims to ensure that the temple is clean for the visitors during Dashain. The Bank has been organizing clean-up programs in Bhadrakali Mandir for the last three years. The program saw active participation from staff Guthi Sansthan, Nepal Army personnel and NMB Bank Ltd.
 




NMB BANK ORGANIZES TWO DAY RELIEF PROGRAM (11 SEPTEMBER 2014)

NMB Bank in coordination with the Central District Office, Surkhet organized a two day relief distribution program for flood victims in five different rehabilitation centres in Surkhet district. The Bank’s staff along with the Nimmitta Pramukh Jilla Adhikari –Mr. Jagat Bahadur Basnet, visited rehabilitation camps in Kala Gaaun, Samjana and Uttarganga tole, Mahila Prasishyan development center, Subba Kuna rehabilitation camp, Sattari rehabilitation camp and distributed 300 sacks of food grains.

NMB BANK FELICITATES MICROFINANCE CUSTOMERS (27 AUGUST 2014)

NMB Bank organized a felicitation program for its Microfinance customers -women entrepreneurs on the occasion of Teej. The Bank has been working towards empowerment of women entrepreneurs through its Microfinance program across the country. The program was attended by more than 180 customers; the top three entrepreneurs/groups received awards from the Bank’s CEO, Mr. Upendra Poudyal.
 

 



NMB BANK LAUNCHES NMB BANK MANYAJAAN MUDDATI (24 AUGUST 2014)

NMB Bank has launched “NMB Bank Manyajan Muddati” a fixed deposit product for senior citizens on the occasion of Father’s Day. Citizens above 54 years of age would qualify for the product that aims to support their post retirement needs. With an interest rate of 7.5% payable monthly and a minimum balance of Rs.100, 000 the product offers overdraft facilities when in need.

NMB BANK LAUNCHES “FINANCIAL LITERACY PROGRAM”(20 AUGUST 2014)

NMB Bank in association with National Banking Institute has launched of ‘Financial Literacy Program” across the country. The program intends to impart knowledge and understanding on the need and importance of financial literacy in all levels of society. The Bank conducted its pilot project for the program in its Lubhu Branch on 20th August and will roll out the program through its branches in and outside the valley with particular focus in rural areas. “ Financial Literacy is a must for every individual in all walks of life, as it is a strong catalyst in economic prosperity, hence the Bank has taken up this campaign to add value to not only the lives of our customers but the general masses at large’ said Mr. Upendra Poudyal, CEO - NMB Bank Ltd. 3RD NMB BANK HERITAGE WALK 2014(18 APRIL 2014)

NMB Bank in association with Kathmandu Metropolitan City Office organized the ‘3rd NMB Bank Heritage Walk 2014’ on the occasion of World Heritage Day. The Bank has committed to pledge its support for the preservation of rich heritage sites as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility since the past few years. First initiated on the occasion of its 16th Anniversary, the Bank has been organizing the Heritage Walk in association of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Office since the past three years. The sole purpose of this event was to raise awareness about the importance of preservation of our heritage sites among the local communities. The 3rd NMB Bank Heritage Walk 2014 was inaugurated by the Bank’s Chairman, Mr. Nanda Kishor Rathi, and representatives from Pepsi, Samsung Mobiles and Diebold who were major sponsors for the event by cutting the ribbon at the Bank’s head office in Babarmahal. The Heritage Walk route started from Babarmahal through Thapathali, Tripureshwore, Sundhara, Bhotahity, Ganabahal, Hanumandhoka and finally assembled at Basantapur for the closing ceremony with participation of invited guests, bank’s executives and staff & media. At the ceremony held at Basantapur, Mr. Satya Mohan Joshi was the chief guest along with other distinguished guests including Ms. Amita Vohra, Officer-In-Charge, UNESCO, Mr. Laxman Aryal, CEO –KMC, Mr. Bhes Narayan Dahal, Director General, Department of Archaeology, NMB Bank’s Chairman Mr. Nanda Kishor Rathi and CEO of the Bank Mr. Upendra Poudyal who emphasized on the importance of heritage conservation through their speeches. NMB BANK JOINS HANDS WITH THE UNITED NATIONS WORLD FOOD PROGRAMME TO EXTEND BRANCHLESS BANKING TO FOOD INSECURE COMMUNITIES IN DOTI DISTRICT(17 MARCH 2014)

NMB Bank will expand its branchless banking service to Doti district having successfully introduced the service in Dolakha, Thaiba, Lubhoo and Dhangadhi. Under the Republic of Korea funded Food for New Village Project, the Bank joins hands with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to provide cash distribution services to over 1600 beneficiaries in Ladagada and Pokhari Village Development Committees (VDCs) of Doti district. The initiative aims to provide banking services to the unbanked population and provide communities access to financial services for the first time. NMB Bank will use innovative chip-based smart card technology to introduce branchless operations in two highly food insecure VDCs. The Bank’s branchless banking agents will distribute cash benefits to identified beneficiaries through biometric enabled smart cards and Point of Transaction devices. The use of smart cards will improve the security and efficiency of transfers. Smart cards also offer beneficiaries greater control over their finances, as they can choose how much of their earnings to withdraw at a time, and safely store the rest – a significant benefit in remote areas with no banking facilities.

NMB BANK’S GORAKHNATH MANDIR CLEAN UP PROGRAM (05 MARCH 2014)

NMB Social Initiative, a nonprofit organization established by the staff of NMB Bank Ltd organized a Clean Up program of the Gorakhnath Mandir premises on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri. NMB Bank has been maintaining the temple after renovating it two years ago. Members of NMB Social Initiative and the executive committee of the Bank participated in the program to strengthen the Bank’s initiative on Heritage preservation.

NMB Bank has 26 branches, 1 extension counter and 30 ATM outlets across the country.

 

NMB Bank launches NMB Mero Wish (25 February 2014)

NMB Bank has launched a SPECIAL recurring deposit product, which allows customers to enjoy deposit flexibility of a savings account with interest rates of FD towards the fulfillment of the individual’s pre defined goal; which means that it is not compulsory for the customer to deposit money every month but he can deposit money into the account as and when he likes to/is able to. Customer is allowed to deposit any amount into the account any number of times in a month. In case he is unable to deposit any sum during a month; he will not be penalized for it.

NMB BANK ORGANIZES BLOOD DONATION PROGRAM (08 JANUARY 2014)

NMB Bank organized a blood donation program in its Chabahil branch as part of the ongoing celebration of its 18th Anniversary. The Blood donation program was organized to contribute to the shortage of blood experienced by the blood bank for some time. Active volunteers from staff, customers, business partners and walk in donors were seen donating blood. The response has been overwhelming and we are grateful to all who supported our endeavor to help save lives by donating blood, said a statement issued by the Bank.
