NMB BANK SPONSORS BAL MANDIR CHILDREN ON 18TH ANNIVERSARY(26 DECEMBER 2013)
NMB Bank marked its 18th Anniversary through its CSR program, by providing sponsorship to nine children of Bal Mandir in the form of fixed deposits of NPR. 50, 000 that each of the children will be eligible to withdraw once they turn 18 years. The objective behind this is to ensure that the children have decent amount of savings by the time they become adults and utilize the fund for furthering their education, said a statement issued by the Bank. Likewise the Bank rendered support by contributing to the food grains stock at Bal Mandir.

18TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING(19 DECEMBER 2013)
The 18th Annual General Meeting, Chaired and inaugurated by Nandakishor Raathi, Chairman of NMB Bank, was successfully convened on Thursday, 19 December 2013 at Nepal Administrative Staff College, Jawlakhel, Lalitpur. The bank continued to record deposit level from 15.98 billion to 22.2 billion i.e. increased by 39% during financial year end 2012/2013. Likewise, Loan and Credit recorded 16.9 billion with an increment of 36 percentage increase on NMB’s Operating Profit and Net Profit for the period were recorded at a level of Rs. 610 million and 360 million.
The shareholders also expressed their gratitude for the encouraging growth in business volume as well as establishing NMB Bank as one of the reputed financial organizations in the Nepalese financial industry, despite various hurdles such as political and economical instability, industrial and trade recession, stiff competition and many more.
NMB BANK OPENS 4 NEW BRANCHES(15 DECEMBER 2013)
NMB Bank Ltd has opened 4 new branches, two of which are located inside the valley in Kalanki, and Bhaktapur and two outside the valley in Birtamod and Narayanghat.
The four new branches were inaugurated by the Bank’s Board of Directors including the Chairman. Narayanghat Branch was inaugurated by Mr. Rajendra Pd. Kafle, Director and Mr. Jeevan Man Joshi, Director. Birtamod Branch was inaugurated by: Chairman - Mr. Nanda Kishor Rathi and Mr. Harischandra Subedi, Director. Bhaktapur Branch was inaugurated by Mr. Hari Pd. Shrestha, Director and the Kalanki Branch was inaugurated by Mr. Manish Jain, Director respectively.

NMB BANK APPOINTS ROHIT CHAND FOR PRODUCT ENDORSEMENT(12 NOVEMBER 2013)
NMB Bank Ltd has appointed Nepali International footballer Rohit Chand to endorse the Banks’ products and services. As per the MOU signed between Rohit and the Bank, Rohit will endorse the Bank’s products in advertisement, promotional materials and all other activities for a period of 1 year, said a statement issued by the Bank. NMB Bank is the sponsor of the NMB Bank Machhindra Football Club which had recently signed Rohit to the club making him the highest paid Nepali footballer. Rohit, who plays for the Indonesian Football Club Persija Jakarta was recently named one of the top 10 foreigners in the Indonesian Super League.

Taking forward the drive to spread awareness on ‘heritage preservation’ , NMB Bank has organized for Dashain Tihar Jhilimili celebration across all its branches. The branches have been decorated on the theme of Dashain and Tihar with staff attired in traditional dress of various ethnic backgrounds in some branches. NMB BANK JOINS HANDS WITH THE UNITED NATIONS WORLD FOOD PROGRAMME TO EXTEND BRANCHLESS BANKING TO FOOD INSECURE COMMUNITIES IN DOTI DISTRICT(27 OCTOBER 2013)
NMB Bank will expand its branchless banking service to Doti district having successfully introduced the service in Dolakha, Thaiba, Lubhoo and Dhangadhi. Under the Republic of Korea funded Food for New Village Project, the Bank joins hands with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP)to provide cash distribution services to over 1600 beneficiaries in Ladagada and Pokhari Village Development Committees (VDCs) of Doti district.
The initiative aims to provide banking services to the unbanked population and provide communities access to financial services for the first time. NMB Bank will use innovative chip-based smart card technology to introduce branchless operations in two highly food insecure VDCs. The Bank’s branchless banking agents will distribute cash benefits to identified beneficiaries through biometric enabled smart cards and Point of Transaction devices. The use of smart cards will improve the security and efficiency of transfers. Smart cards also offer beneficiaries greater control over their finances, as they can choose how much of their earnings to withdraw at a time, and safely store the rest – a significant benefit in remote areas with no banking facilities.
WFP is the world's largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. In Nepal, WFP is addressing food insecurity through interventions in nutrition, education and rural livelihoods support for vulnerable populations in the Mid- and Far-west Hills and Mountain regions. By promoting partnerships between WFP and the private sector, WFP's gradual shift from food to cash transfers gives the freedom to beneficiaries to utilize their earnings to buy a variety of foods and also other essential household expenses like children’s education and health. Cash transfers will stimulate agricultural production and market activity, with increases in traders’ stocks and product variety. NMB plans to expand its branchless banking services in other parts of the country in near future.
NMB BANK OPERATES ATM IN DISTRICT COURT PREMISES(09 OCTOBER 2013)
NMB Bank Ltd extended its ATM services reach in the valley with the operation of a new ATM booth in the District Court premises at Babar Mahal . The ATM was inaugurated by Honorable Chief District Judge Achyut Bista. The new ATM is an addition to the Bank’s delivery channels being offered by the Bank as part of its endeavor to serve its valuable customers. The ATM will accept cards from all banks and financial institutions in the VISA network along with SCT and MasterCard. NMB Bank’s ATM card can also be used in all the ATM terminals of Banks in India. NMB Bank has further planned to extend its ATM services to different parts of the country and facilitate its customers for easy banking, said a statement issued by the Bank.

2ND NMB BANK INTER SCHOOL HERITAGE PAINTING COMPETITION WINNERS ANNOUNCED (26 SEPTEMBER 2013)
The results of the 2nd NMB Bank Inter-school Heritage Painting Competition 2013 were announced in a ceremony held at the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts(NAFA) following a four day exhibition of the paintings at the Arniko Gallery - NAFA.
The winners of the Top 5 Paintings were –Ajambir Tamang – Landmark Educational Foundation School,Sinamangal; Samyog Mahat – Tamakoshi English Boarding School, Manthali; Raghu Barmashakha – Shangrila International School, Chapagaun, Lalitpur; Sandesh Raj Shakya, Graded English Medium School (GEMS), Dhapakhel, Lalitpur and Nabin Adhikari, Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya;Sallaghari, Bhaktapur.
The award for the “Most Popular Painting on Facebook” based on the highest number of ‘likes’ received on Facebook went to Rozen Yadav of Bal Kalyan Vidya Mandir Secondary School, Biratnagar.
The winners were awarded certificates, trophies and cash prize of Rs. 20,000 each.
The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. Kiran Manandhar – Chancellor, Nepal Academy of Fine Arts. The paintings were judged by a panel of judges comprising of Sangeeta Thapa, Curator – Siddartha Art Gallery; Dr. Seema Sharma Shah, Head – Department of Fine Arts – Tribhuwan University; Anil Chitrakar – Social Entrepreneur; Krishna Manandhar, Principal – Srijana College of Fine Arts.

2ND NMB BANK INTER SCHOOL HERITAGE PAINTING COMPETITION (22 SEPTEMBER 2013)
NMB Social Initiative, with technical assistance from Srijana College of Fine Arts organized the 2nd NMB Bank Inter-school Heritage Painting Competition, a nationwide event on 21st September 2013 at the premises of Patan Museum. The event was a part of the initiative on corporate social responsibility on heritage preservation undertaken by the Bank.
112 students from 112 schools all over the nation participated in the competition. NMB Social Initiative believes that the schools and their combined efforts will help them take a step forward towards spreading awareness about preserving the rich heritage sites of Nepal. Meanwhile, social entrepreneur, Mr. Anil Chitrakar was the Guest of Honour. He highlighted the importance of Heritage preservation and delivered his motivational speech to all participating students before commencement of the competition.
2ND NMB BANK INTER SCHOOL HERITAGE PAINTING COMPETITION REGISTRATION OPENS(19 AUGUST 2013)
Registration opens for the 2nd NMB Bank Inter School Heritage Painting Competition 2013 inviting all schools from across the country for participation. The competition is scheduled to be held on 21st September, 2013. NMB Bank has been involved in creating awareness for preservation of heritage as part of its corporate social responsibility for last few years. The aim of this event is to create awareness on the importance of Heritage amongst younger generation, who need to be educated in order to ensure that they will in future, work towards its preservation as well, said a statement issued by the Bank.
The competition witnessed more than one hundred school participation in 2012, with the Top 5 Paintings being awarded cash prize of NPR 20,000 each. The competition is open to all schools with each student participating from class 8-10. Registration for the competition closes on 25th August, 2013 and is on ‘first come first serve’ basis.

NMB BANK ORGANIZES BHADRAKALI MANDIR PREMISES CLEAN ON WORLD HERITAGE DAY(19 APRIL 2013)
NMB Social Initiative, a non profit organization established by the staff of NMB Bank Ltd in association with Kathmandu Metropolitan City Office and Bhadrakali Guthi organized a Clean Up program of the Bhadrakali Mandir premises to mark the 41st World Heritage Day. The Clean Up program was organized to give continuity to the initiative that was started in 2012 on the occasion of World Heritage Day. The Bank also launched a drive to make Bhadrakali Mandir premises a ‘plastic free zone’. Compost bins which help convert waste offerings to compost and facilitate waste management were handed over by Mr. Upendra Poudyal, CEO- NMB Bank Ltd to the Bhadrakali Guthi Sansthan. The program saw active participation from staff of Kathmandu Municipal Corporation, Guthi Sansthan, Rotract Club of Kasthamandap, NMB Bank Ltd and NMB Bank Machhindra Club. NMB BANK SIGNS PACT WITH SHARAF EXCHANGE CO. LLC FOR INBOUND REMITTANCE(31 MARCH 2013)
NMB Bank Limited and Sharaf Exchange Co. LLC have signed a pact for acquiring inbound remittance from the UAE. With this arrangement, Nepalese migrant workers in the UAE can send remittance back home through NMB Bank Sulav Remit. The agreement was signed between Mr. Gopal Krishan Sharma CEO of Sharaf Exchange Company, Dubai and Mr. Upendra Poudyal, CEO of NMB Bank Ltd.

NMB BANK INAUGURATES GORAKHNATH MANDIR POST RENOVATION (2 FEBRUARY 2013)
NMB Bank Directors Mr. Harishchandra Subedi and Mr. Rajendra Kafle jointly inaugurated the Gorakhnath Mandir, Thapathali which has been renovated by NMB Social Initiative, as part of the Bank’s pledge made during the NMB Bank Heritage Walk. The renovation is part of the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility wherein the Bank has been working to create awareness on the preservation of heritage through various programs and support to organizations involved in the same.
